It is an exciting time for racing in Queensland as we enter a new era under the guidance of new Racing Queensland CEO Jason Scott.
Jason is only a few weeks into his new post but has already publicly shared some of his views on the future of the industry in Queensland.
The QTOA has held some positive discussions with him about his vision for the future and the role Queensland owners can play in that.
The QTOA Committee will be meeting with Jason in mid July where we plan to hold more in-depth talks and discuss a wide variety of topics.
This presents an excellent opportunity for the QTOA to share our views, and in the lead-up to that we plan to conduct a survey of our members in June so we can deliver as much feedback from our members as possible.
The positive is Jason is open to hearing what the QTOA has to say and we are excited about forging a positive relationship with RQ from the outset.
So to our members, we urge you to start thinking about the topics that matter most to you as an owner and we will be in touch in the coming weeks with a survey to collate your feedback.
It has also been a time of structural change for the QTOA as we farewell inaugural Chairman Peter Tighe and CEO Ben Mannion.
Both have been integral in establishing the QTOA and helping Queensland owners have a fresh voice within the industry.
In a positive, Ben will remain on the QTOA Committee so will be able to continue to have his input and the committee can continue to tap into experiences during his time time as CEO, while Peter has decided to step down due to business commitments.
We thank them both for their service and as a Committee we are now looking to build on what they have achieved over the past 18 months.
