Dear Members,
For the QTOA to be an active persuasive voice in the Queensland racing industry we need to maintain a basic infrasturcture.
While much of the work representing the interests of throrougbred owners is done by volunteers, costs are still incurred to ensure professional representation. For this reason the support of our sponsors is critical and greatly appreciated. I urge all owners to support our sponsors who are offering generous ongoing benefits and opportunities to us all. Details of existing and new offers are included in our newsletters and our website.
A good example of sponsorship support benefiting members is this coming weekend when we look forward to hosting the lucky winners of our QTOA Member Spring Soiree function at Doomben this Saturday courtesy of our friends at Ladbrokes.
With Spring racing in full swing, it is a great opportunity to get together with our members and enjoy some quality racing in the surrounds of the exclusive Ladbrokes Chief de Beers lounge.
Beyond this weekend, again courtesy of Ladbrokes, we also look forward to catching up with some of our North Queensland based owners on November 19 at Cluden Park, Townsville for our next function before we return to the BRC at Eagle Farm in December.
Those wishing to enter the draw to win a double pass into the Ladbrokes Sports Bar at Cluden Park, Townsville on November 19 can enter via the link below and we will have more information on the Eagle Farm function in our November newsletter.
We appreciate the support of Ladbrokes in making these functions possible for our members through their exclusive areas.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR AWARD WINNERS
The QTOA was proud to be represented at the annual Queensland Thoroughbred Racing Awards earlier this month.
Committee member and former QTOA CEO Ben Mannion attended and joined with ATA President Cam Partington in presenting one of the awards on the night.
One of the highlights of the night was the QLD Horse of the Year award, which was taken out by the Steven O’Dea and Matt Hoysted trained Uncommon James.
Magic Millions winner Skirt The Law was named 2YO Horse of the Year while Rothfire was awarded QTIS Horse of the Year.
Champion stallion Better Than Ready continues to shine and was crowned both Qld Stallion and 2YO Stallion of the Year, while Encryption was awarded Champion First Season Sire status.
Congratulations to all the award winners and to those that were nominated.
The QTOA has raised the prospect of having owners recognised for their contribution to the industry at these awards in the future and we look forward to working with Racing Queensland on that.
Finally, good luck to those with horses racing over the remainder of the Spring carnival.
