Magic Millions QTIS Open winner Alpine Edge has joined the growing list of confirmed runners for The Archer on April 30.
Trainers Toby and Trent Edmonds confirmed that the four-year-old, raced by Lucky Clover Thoroughbreds, has been locked in for a slot for the $775,000 feature race to be held at Rockhampton.
It is the second runner in the The Archer for the Edmonds stable, following on from Stradbroke winner Tyzone, who ran in last year’s inaugural running of the race.
Alpine Edge joins the likes of Weona Smartone, Count Da Beans and Soxagon as the confirmed runners for the race to date.
Alpine Edge, who ran second in the inaugural running of the King of the Mountain on New Year’s Eve, has been enjoying a spell since winning the $1 Million Magic Millions QTIS Handicap on Magic Millions day on the Gold Coast in January 19.
The Rockhampton carnival kicks off on Wednesday April 26th and runs through to the main event on Sunday 30th April.
With a huge prize money increase and a standalone Sunday meeting, the event promises to be even bigger in its second year.
